Mission Statement

The mission statement of the Independence County Sheriff’s Department is to maintain a high quality of life for all residents of Independence County and to protect human life and property by providing the highest quality of Law Enforcement services to the citizens of Independence County.

To accomplish this, the leadership of the Sheriff’s Office is committed first to serve our staff and their families through the promotion of positive character qualities. The Sheriff’s Office spends time and energy on the development of these qualities and we enable our employees to correctly respond to life situations and establish successful relationships in both their professional and personal lives.

Goals

The Independence County Sheriffs Department will manage and use its resources with an emphasis on criminal activity and unsafe driving practices that pose the greatest threat to the citizens.

We will develop partnerships with other law enforcement agencies for the purpose of preventing and solving crimes, improving safety and providing other services to the citizens.

We will maintain the confidence and respect of the public by carrying out its mission and goals with integrity and professionalism.
